The Replacements by David PutnamLike Bruno Johnson, this sequel breaks rules for all the right reasons.I confess I don t often love sequels but I liked The Disposables so much I decided to take a chance on Putnam s second The Replacements I was completely caught off guard by this book A crime novel is not supposed to have me tearing up by page 8 but that s exactly what happened I was definitely hooked but I was still preparing myself for the usual sequel syndrome hokey backstory and predict The [...]

Thankfully former detective David Putnam did not make readers wait long to find out what happened to his hero cop Bruno Johnson and his love Marie and the kids they rescued from abusive homes The plot of Putnam s first book The Disposables left the reader satisfied that those kids were indeed NOT disposable to Bruno and Marie who put it all on the line, but the book dangled an uncertain future as they fled to Costa Rica The Replacements picks up the story without requiring a read of the first Th [...]

A worthy sequel to The Disposables Putnam blesses his characters with guts, bravado, and emotion that kept me reading and holding my breath to the very last page.

What an action pack book Wowizers You start right from the beginning with knowing who Bruno Johnson might be You see his other side You see that he still has his cop side of him and that no matter what happens he cannot let that go Does matter how far on the other side of the fence he goes he still has a heart of a cop The only part that is not fully action pack is maybe the first few chapters within the book The only reason why it s not because we are getting background information on B What an [...]

I received this book through the First Reads program.Wow what a fabulous ride such an exciting book that I read it in almost one sitting full of so much action that I couldn t stop myself from turning the pages to keep the story going, long into the night even though I had not read the first book in the series, I did not feel lost in the story line whatsoever the author did a great job of keeping the reader fully engaged throughout amazing characters

I received this book as a Giveaway from David Putnam Thank you so much for allowing me to read this novel David Putnam has a firm handle on police procedurals, and his protagonist, Bruno Johnson, is all about empathy This was an excellent book, the story tight and the characters are three dimensional It s setting, for the most part Las Angeles and environs, are well defined I will watch for by this author.
