All of my reviews can be found on novelgossipThis is the third book I ve read by Berry, her first two are Phantom Limb and Missing Parts I feel like she s really found her niche as an author and she s consistently publishing books with dark, but totally fascinating subject matter that are extremely addictive reads. This is told from two viewpoints, that of Ella and Sarah and it flashes back between Then and Now Then details the two teenagers time when they were kept prisoner after being kidnapped [...]

Last year I read a very special book called The Girl Before by Rena Olsen Even though I did love it back then, it s one of those that have been in my mind ever since I ve been searching for books dealing with similar themes and I often remember some of the scenes When I came across Appetite for Innocence, I knew I had to read it because of the obvious similarities not about the actual topic, but because of the protagonists. This was not an easy book to read at all The writing it flows, it s simpl [...]

Wow this was a totally riveting and compelling read I could hardly tear myself away from the pages as my outside world seemed to stop This is not a carefree, relaxing read it sits uneasily in your mind, turns your stomach and plays on your conscience in the middle of the night.Appetite For Innocence is an unsettling story of a serial rapist of the worst kind He searches through social media for photos of the sweetest, innocent young virgins and then sets out to kidnap them In his basement are Sa [...]

This has to be one of the hardest 5 star reviews I will have to write It s hard to say you enjoyed a book when the subject content is a hard one to digest As a parent, it was even harder to read this book would be every parent s nightmare So why give it a 5 star Lucinda Berry is a new author for me and it seems that she has a total of 4 books published, including Appetite for Innocence Each book looks like it has garnered at least 3 stars or which definitely piques my interest to read of her b [...]

Phew, this was quite a read Right from page one I was hooked I had such a hard time putting it down so I could go to work I d highly recommend picking this up on a day when you don t have any other plans because you ll certainly want to read the entire book in one sitting Full disclosure I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review This did not affect my rating in any way.Summary Appetite for Innocence is a book from the perspective of two teenage girls, Sarah and Ella T [...]

Dramatic page turner about an extreme topic, as her other books seem to be.My rating is low because while the book is a fast read, it s just not that well written. The ending is unsatisfying and many of the passages just seem unrealistic even for fiction better research was required for sure. And the amount of errors is just embarrassing and unbecoming for a professional writer. She definitely needs to brush up on her grammar and get a better editor, I have no idea how so many mistakes can make it [...]

This is the second book I ve read by this author, and she definitely has a knack for dark subject matter I don t always like when books jump back and forth in time, but it worked here It helped that the chapters were quite short the book isn t very long The story is told through the eyes of Ella and Sarah, teenagers who were kept prisoner by a monster.Right away we are told that Ella and Sarah escaped from their nightmare, so it goes back and forth between their time being prisoner and present d [...]

This is the second book by this author that I have read and once again it didn t disappoint.John although not his real name likes nothing than to groom, then rape teenage girls, but only virgins Sarah has been with him the longest She s been brainwashed in believing he loves her, and will do anything for him.The girls are hidden in the basement until he s ready to do the deed The main part of the story centres around Sarah, Ella and Paige and what they go through When one of them makes a run fo [...]

Very Dark This ll take you into the darkest of places, where you may not want to goWhen Ella Stevenson decides to go for that 4 mile run, taking out her earbuds and getting the rush of the city air, she shouldn t have stopped when that man pulled along side her, inquiring about his little black dog But she did.It took me a matter of hours to devour this very dark psychological thriller Yes, I kno this kind of thing happens all too often, and as sad as it is, these sick individuals that appear to [...]

Powerful and DisturbingThis book is about two teenage girls surviving a horrific crime The girls alternate telling their own story and jump from past what happened to present the aftermath It sounds confusing, but it certainly doesn t read that way The reader is held captive right along with them, because the characters are so well drawn and although the crime is gruesome, the author doesn t go into details, she let s the reader s imagination do it for her which amps up the effect and the suspen [...]

I d downloaded this book a while back and after struggling with the first two chapters I d given up on it however after reading Saving Noah also by same author which was brilliant I decided to give this book another god I m so pleased I did I think it was just a case of adjusting my mindset and getting into the style of writing that it is.I m not going to pretend it s not a hard read at times however the author has managed to make sure that it s not too dark and the book remains very readable.

    16. Amanda Walters on said:

A dark psychological thriller you re not kidding this was bloody brilliant This is the third book by Lucinda Berry that I have read, she is so good I love her writing style and it probably helps that she s a psychologist so knows exactly what she is talking about A story about Stockholm Syndrome which had me page turning way past my bedtime and at times had my eyes leaking Another five stars.

Justice winsLucinda Berry outdid herself writing this book It was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat until I finished reading it A serial rapist and killer picks his victims by reading their Facebook and Twitter entries when he tricks them into friending him Do any of the girls escape Does he get caught You will have to read the book to find out, and it is definitely a book you want to read.

    18. Erica Ayoub on said:

Great book I loved that it was written from the victims view Most crime books are from the detective police view or the killers view This was the victim and it s so thrilling Every page makes you want to read the next one I think the author did a fantastic job bouncing from the different personalities of the victims I highly recommend this book if you like twisted crazy crime stories I LOVED it

    19. Tara Butler on said:

Completely satisfyingLike comfortable a feeling of deja vu, this story is reminiscent of award winning thriller and women s psychological fiction books, but with a life of its own I had desperately hoped for a series, as Sarah s story remains a bit unfinished, and although it stands alone, I ll be seeking out this author s other works for my next cozy up by the fireplace and read afternoon.

    20. Lins on said:

Wow, a must read.Wow, this hits you right from the start and it doesn t stop It makes difficult reading at times due to the content, i.e sexual abuse and the murder of very young teenage girls A major twist at the end hits you even harder A must read if you can deal with the abuse.

    21. Cathy on said:

Tough subject matter Ella is kidnapped and wakes up in a soundproofed basement There are two other girls there Paige and Sarah Sarah keeps herself apart from the other two girls She has been here the longest John, the man who took the girls likes young virgins The story is told from Ella and Sarah s viewpoint from Then and Now Well written and I did have to put it aside at times.

    22. Nicole on said:

So mostly I really liked this a lot, except that I was not a fan at all of the main character Ella wss just really annoying and whiny to me, I much identified with Sarah Maybe because I have a traumatic and abusive background, but still Overall I liked it a lot and I m hoping there are other a books by the author.

    23. Donna Cleary on said:

Page turner This was an excellent read and gave a realistic perspective of what an individual experiences due to the horrors of abuse and abduction Main characters were well developed It was incredibly sad, and i found myself rooting for Ella to keep fighting Despite Ella s hatred of Sarah which I could understand, I still felt sorry for Sarah from all she suffered It s a dark story, but I d definitely recommend.

    24. Nina Irwin on said:

Kidnapped by a monsterThis story is about a man who kidnaps and eventually repeatedly raped his victims It s also about one of those girls becoming so brainwashed that she begins helping him Eventually the last Girl taken escapes and everything goes even horribly wrong I rated this a 5 The way it ended leaves room for a possible 2nd book.

    25. Ginette R Jonas on said:

EducationAll teenagers should be required to read this If it gives them nightmares, GOOD Maybe they will think twice a out social media Parents of teenagers should also read this so when their kids beg for FB and Twitter they can say NO and Hell NO
